New year Meaning

The best definition for a new year, is the best period to restart your life. It's basically a new beginning; an opportunity to start afresh, and yes, make new resolutions. For the majority of the world, a new year starts on January 1st and ends on December 31st, which doubles as New year's Eve.

New Year New Me

This is a saying most of us are familiar with, as the new year presents chances for one to be a different person, a whole new you if you'd like. So generally, people make decisions around this time to guide their way of life, such as eating only healthy foods or recipes, or taking on new challenges which they think would shape their lives for the better, such as exercising regularly.

New year New Me Quote

Many "new year new me" quotes exist, and they are usually everywhere at the start of each new year. They are usually in form of resolutions, or just depict the new persona people plan to take on once Big Ben strikes 12 midnight on New year's. No matter how cliche they sound, "new year new me" quotes would most likely never go out of style, because like it or not, the new year is literally the best time to be a new you.

New Year Same Me

For some people however, the saying "new year, new me" just doesn't work anymore as they would rather be the same person they've always been. It's worthy of note that after the year we've had, it's okay if you're feeling too tired to be someone else. It's okay if you want to remain you, and just tidy the parts you aren't satisfied with. It's completely okay if your mantra is "new year same me", and you just want to love and accept the person you are.

Tips to Guide You in the New Year

While you may be too unbothered to make new year resolutions such as losing weight, or becoming someone new, there are several things you could try in the new year to help you grow:

- prioritize yourself: though there's a thin line between this and being selfish, it's important to know that if you aren't happy and satisfied, you truly can not make anyother person happy. You need to know when to draw back and simply take care of you.

- memories: this is literally all we have, so make as many memories as you possibly can. Go out with friends, family, or on your own, and take pictures of any and everything. Immerse yourself in various cultures, try new things and just create magic.

- be grateful: this is one trait that never goes out of fashion. Appreciate the life you have, and the little wonders you're able to enjoy. Always look around you, and find something to be grateful for.

- pursue happiness: make a conscious decision to only choose things that bring you happiness. Yes, it's not all candies and roses in this world, but you can choose to surround yourself with love and support systems that can prop you up on days you feel low.

- breathe: You're doing amazing, and aren't competing with anyone, except of course you're in a literal competition. Otherwise, there's no need to heap all these pressure on yourself. So, just find time to just rest and enjoy the beauty of this world.

A New Me

The important thing is that New year gives us a chance to be and do whatever. It's like the feeling you get when you're on a ferris wheel, and get to the peak. It's that sense of freedom, that feeling like you can do anything. That is what a new year is, and what it means for us.

2020 has brought with it the most stress in recent times. We've had to go through, and in fact are still in the midst of a pandemic. At this point, many of us are quite used to changes such as wearing face masks, working from home, and being particular about our cleanliness.

What decisions are you making in 2021 to be a better version of you? Do you have failed 2020 resolutions which you hope to carry over? Or new ones to make? Or are you simply one of those who aren't bothered about such changes?
