I have worn them for several weeks now, mostly on hikes in the countryside. But I even hiked one morning with snow, and my feet stayed dry and very warm (I had wool socks on). I really like the Meindl Respond GTX shoes; they are lightweight yet rugged enough for my rugged walks.These shoes are excellent for walking long distances on rocky paths, taking trails over hills and even over snow. They give good ankle support, are easy to put on and take off quickly. They feel not quite as comfortable as my previous pair of Meindl hiking boots, but after wearing an old pair of running shoes for over 20 years I daresay the boot-like construction is also partly responsible for their longevity.
